DescriptionSIMD-550, published June 16, 2026, proposes doubling Solana's annual disinflation rate from -15% to -30%, cutting ~18.9M SOL in emissions over six years and accelerating the path to terminal inflation from 2032 to ~2029. Anza gave concept ACK; Firedancer (Jump Crypto) has NOT yet issued its concept ACK — a critical blocker. Anza CEO Ben Hawkins confirmed SIMD-550 and SIMD-553 are on track for 2026.
- This event resolves YES if SIMD-550 completes a formal on-chain stake-weighted validator vote AND achieves the required supermajority (≥66% stake-weighted YES) on or before July 31, 2026 UTC. Resolves NO if no formal vote concludes by deadline or if the vote fails.
- 1. Specificity: Completed on-chain vote with ≥66% stake-weighted YES counts as YES. Vote scheduled but not concluded does NOT count.
- 2. Exclusion: Off-chain polls, temperature checks, and GitHub concept ACKs do not count.
