DescriptionOn Aug 21, 2026 the Pi Core Team began deploying Protocol 27 to Testnet 1, publicly targeting a Mainnet upgrade on Sept 15, 2026. Protocol 27 adds more flexible/secure smart-contract authentication and prepares infrastructure for RPC servers, DEX functions and AMM liquidity pools — the technical gate the community sees as unlocking real utility. This event resolves YES if the Pi Core Team activates the Protocol 27 upgrade on Pi Mainnet on or before Sept 15, 2026 23:59 UTC. This event resolves NO if Protocol 27 is not activated on Mainnet by the deadline.
- 1. Specificity: Only activation of Protocol 27 on the Pi MAINNET (live network protocol version advancing to 27) counts as YES.
- 2. Exclusion: Testnet 1 / Testnet 2 deployments, blog announcements, or partial rollouts without Mainnet activation do NOT count.
- 3. Source Hierarchy: Official Pi Network announcement/blog (minepi.com) priority. Pi Network node/protocol version status secondary. Reputable crypto news (coinpedia.org, cryptotimes.io) tertiary.
- 4. Timing: Must occur before Sept 15, 2026 23:59 UTC. Post-deadline activation resolves NO.
- 5. Cancellation Rule: YES requires actual Mainnet activation of Protocol 27, not just an announcement. Announcement alone without Mainnet activation resolves NO. If activated then rolled back before deadline — resolves YES based on first activation date.
