Will Ethereum's Glamsterdam Upgrade Activate on a Public Testnet by Aug 31, 2026?

DescriptionEthereum's Glamsterdam upgrade (EIP-7732 ePBS + EIP-7928 Block-Level Access Lists) completed generalized devnet-2 at the Soldøgn Interop (May 2, 2026). Public testnet activation on Hoodi or Sepolia is targeting early-to-mid summer 2026; mainnet is aspirationally Q3 2026, with ~30-day security audits still required.
- This event resolves YES if both EIP-7732 and EIP-7928 activate in the same coordinated Glamsterdam fork event on Hoodi or Sepolia (same dual-layer activation: same Beacon Chain fork epoch + EL block) on or before August 31, 2026 23:59 UTC. Resolves NO if no qualifying activation occurs by deadline.
- 1. Specificity: Both EIP-7732 and EIP-7928 must activate together on Hoodi or Sepolia. Deprecated Holesky does not qualify.
- 2. Exclusion: Mainnet, private devnets, sequential single-EIP activations, non-EF-recognized testnets excluded. If EF splits Glamsterdam into two separate upgrades, neither sub-upgrade individually qualifies.
- 3. Rollback: Activation later declared void by EF via blog.ethereum.org or ethereum-magicians.org before Aug 31, 2026 23:59 UTC does NOT count.
- 4. Source Hierarchy: ethereum.org/roadmap/glamsterdam primary. blog.ethereum.org secondary. ethereum-magicians.org (AllCoreDevs) tertiary.
- 5. Timing: Must activate on or before August 31, 2026 23:59 UTC. Post-deadline resolves NO.
- 6. Rename/Restructure: Renamed upgrade must still include both EIPs per ethereum.org/roadmap/ as of resolution date.
