Description Nvidia has not announced a launch date for its next GeForce generation, the RTX 60 series ('Rubin'), and released no new gaming GPUs in 2026. Moore's Law Is Dead (Sep 2026) reported a H1 2027 launch; Kopite7kimi and Kepler_L2 (Sep 2026) say 2028, citing memory prices and TSMC capacity going to AI chips.
- This event resolves YES if, between market creation and June 30, 2027 11:59 PM ET (America/New_York; July 1, 2027 03:59 UTC), any RTX 60-series desktop graphics card becomes available for general retail purchase in the US.
- This event resolves NO if no such card is on general retail sale in the US by the deadline.
- 1. Specificity: Counts any desktop card branded GeForce RTX 60-series (e.g. 6090, 6080, 6070, 6060, incl. Ti/Super), or the next-gen Rubin-based GeForce desktop lineup succeeding RTX 50 regardless of final naming, sold by Nvidia (incl. Founders Edition) or a major US retailer/board partner (Best Buy, Newegg, Amazon, Micro Center, ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, etc.) after an official on-sale date passes. Pre-orders count only if units ship to US customers before the deadline. Quick sell-outs still count.
- 2. Exclusion: Announcements, reviews, paper launches, unshipped pre-orders, laptop GPUs, workstation/data-center cards (RTX PRO, Rubin AI), RTX 50 refreshes (e.g. 50 Super), sales only outside the US (e.g. China-only), and giveaways, reviewer/influencer units, or invite-only/bundle-only programs do not count.
- 3. Source Hierarchy: Nvidia newsroom/announcements priority. Major tech press (The Verge, Tom's Hardware, TechPowerUp) secondary. US retailer listings tertiary.
- 4. Timing: Retail availability must begin before July 1, 2027 03:59 UTC. Post-deadline resolves NO.
- 5. Cancellation Rule: Announcement without retail availability resolves NO. If sales begin then halt before deadline, resolves YES based on first on-sale date.
