Will a Chinese company get FCC Conditional Approval for a power inverter before July 1, 2027?

Will a Chinese company get FCC Conditional Approval for a power inverter before July 1, 2027?

$13,342 Vol. 234d 10h left
Description On July 28, 2026 the FCC added foreign-produced power inverters to its Covered List (narrowed Aug 20, 2026 to grid-connected, remotely controllable inverters). New foreign models need a Conditional Approval from the Department of War (DoW) or DHS to get FCC authorization. As of Nov 8, 2026, inverter approvals went only to non-Chinese firms (Hitachi Energy, Bloom Energy, Ingeteam, Nextpower).
  • This event resolves YES if, between Nov 8, 2026 and July 1, 2027 03:59 UTC (June 30, 11:59 PM ET), a DoW/DHS Conditional Approval for at least one power inverter model or product family is granted to a Chinese company.
  • This event resolves NO otherwise.
  • 1. Specificity: "Chinese company" = the recipient is headquartered in mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau; OR its ultimate parent is; OR such entities/nationals hold >50% of its equity or voting rights (e.g., Huawei, Sungrow, Growatt, GoodWe, Hoymiles, APsystems, Sigenergy, BYD, CSI Solar, or their US subsidiaries). One approved model is enough.
  • 2. Exclusion: Taiwan-headquartered firms (e.g., Delta) do not count. Grandfathered models authorized before July 28, 2026, US-made inverters exempt via 45X, robotics/non-inverter approvals, minority Chinese ownership, pending applications, and unconfirmed company claims do not count.
  • 3. Source Hierarchy: FCC Covered List page and FCC Public Notices priority. DoW/DHS announcements secondary. Credible major news (Reuters, Bloomberg, pv magazine) tertiary. FCC sources prevail over conflicting reports; grant date is as shown by FCC.
  • 4. Timing: Grant must occur and be public before July 1, 2027 03:59 UTC. Post-deadline resolves NO.
  • 5. Revocation Rule: If granted then revoked before the deadline, resolves YES based on the original grant date.
