DescriptionThis event resolves based on the National Average Price for a Gallon of Regular Unleaded Gasoline in the United States as reported by AAA (American Automobile Association) on April 1, 2026.
The "AAA Daily Average Rule" is in effect: The resolution value is the national average price published on gasprices.aaa.com for the morning of April 1, 2026. As of January 27, 2026, the national average is $2.81. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) in its January Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) projects that the Q2 2026 average (April-June) will rise slightly to $3.02 per gallon as refineries switch to summer-grade fuel. GasBuddy’s 2026 forecast also suggests a "spring peak" in the low $3.20s. However, with Brent crude projected to average just $56/b in 2026 (down from $81 in 2024), long-term pressure remains downward. If the price is exactly on a boundary (e.g., $2.80), it resolves into the higher bracket ($2.81 – $3.00). Confirmation will be based on the AAA daily price ticker. Revisions to the data made after April 2nd will not be considered.
As of January 27, 2026, the market is balancing between the "Trump $2 gas goal" and the technical realities of refinery maintenance. While several states in the Gulf Coast and South are already seeing prices near $2.20, the high costs on the West Coast (~$4.10) keep the national average pulled upward.
Resolution based on official AAA Gas Prices data.
